Grad-IQ Planners app

Effective date: October 29, 2026

This policy explains how the Grad-IQ Planners app for iPhone, iPad and Android (the “app”) handles information. The app is published by IQLearning LLC, a Nevada limited liability company (“IQLearning”, “we”, “us”). Questions: jay.s@grad-iq.org

Summary

• We don't collect personal information through the app. There are no accounts or sign-in, and no ads, analytics, tracking, or third-party code that collects data.

• What you enter in the planners stays on your device. We can't see it and we never receive it.

• If you turn on loan payment reminders, they are scheduled on your device by your phone's operating system. They aren't sent through our servers or anyone else's.

• If you buy the optional unlock, Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) processes the payment. We never receive your payment card details.

Information stored on your device

The app saves the following in its private storage on your device:

• What you enter in the planners, such as budget figures, loan names, balances and due dates, study logs, milestones, notes and weekly plans.

• Your settings, such as whether reminders are on, how far ahead you want them, and the time of day.

• A record of whether the unlock is active on this device.

The app keeps two copies on the device: its web storage and a native copy, so your plans survive if the system clears web storage. None of this is sent to IQLearning or to anyone else. We don't run servers for the app, and the app doesn't send your planner data over the internet.

Local notifications (loan payment reminders)

Reminders are optional and off until you turn them on in the PhD Stipend & Loan planner. When you turn them on, the app asks your permission to show notifications. It then schedules reminders on your device using the operating system's local notification feature. No push notification service is used.

A reminder shows the loan names you entered and the due date. Depending on your notification settings, reminders may appear on your lock screen.

You can change the lead times, or turn reminders off, in the app at any time. Changing a due date reschedules its reminders. Deleting a loan or turning reminders off cancels them. You can also block notifications for the app in your device's Settings.

In-app purchase

The free download includes demo editions of the planners. The optional one-time purchase “Unlock all planners” is sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment and handles your account, payment information and receipts under its own terms and privacy policy ( Apple , Google ).

On your device, the app asks the store whether your account owns the unlock. It does this when you buy, when you tap Restore purchases, and when you open the app. It stores the answer on your device. The app doesn't send us your name, email address or payment details.

Apple and Google provide developers with sales and transaction reports, as described in their developer terms. We use that information only for accounting, tax, refunds and customer support.

Information you choose to share

• Backups and CSV exports. The app creates these only when you tap the button. Your phone's share sheet then lets you choose where the file goes, for example Files, email or a cloud drive. That destination handles the file under its own terms. We don't receive it unless you send it to us.

• Links. Source links, such as StudentAid.gov, open in your web browser. Those websites' own policies apply.

• Emailing us. If you email jay.s@grad-iq.org , we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply and to provide support. We keep support emails only as long as needed for that and to meet legal obligations.

Device backups

If you have turned on iCloud Backup or Android device backup, your device's backups may include the app's stored data. Apple or Google handles those backups under your account settings. We have no access to them.

Deleting your data

• Use “Clear all” in a planner to delete what you entered in it.

• Uninstalling the app deletes its data from your device. Copies in device backups or in files you exported are not affected.

• Turn reminders off to cancel all scheduled reminders.

Children

The app is meant for graduate students and other adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Your data is kept in the app's private storage and protected by your device's security, so we recommend using a device passcode. Files you export and share are outside the app's protection.

Your choices and rights

We don't collect or hold personal information through the app, so in general we have nothing to access, correct or delete. Your data is under your control on your device. If you've emailed us, you can ask us to delete those messages. We do not sell or share personal information, including under Nevada law.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version at privacy.html and update the effective date. If a change affects how the app handles information, the updated policy will also appear in the app.
